What is DHCP? How can I tell if I have it?

DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol) is a protocol for assigning IP addresses to devices on a network from a pool of available IP addresses. This is done by your home network router. By default, the VUDU box is set to DHCP out of the box so it will automatically pick up an IP address when it is connected to your router. If your VUDU box is able to get online without changing the settings to a static IP, then you are good to go! Most VUDU customers are set to DHCP rather than static IP addresses and if you are not sure what you are set to, it is likely set to DHCP since that is an automatic connection.
